Breastfeeding at 11 Months

for more on BF and natural baby health, visit naturalbaby.info Breastfeeding generally gets easier as the child gets older. It may be difficult sometimes to nurse a very active baby in public, as s/he may be distracted and may squirm and draw attention to you. However, I find that it is generally easier since my son is now very used to nursing and does not need me to help him latch on or to support his head while he is feeding. Since he is now very mobile and also starting to be able to communicate, he often climbs nto my lap and signs milk or otherwise shows me that he wants to nurse. In this video, I want to show you one nursng position that is easy to do with an older baby. The baby sits on your lap and latches on to the breast all by himself, and continues to breastfeed in a sitting position, straddling your leg. He can move around quite a bit while nursing, without it inturrupting his feeding or making you uncomfortable. This can also be done easily in public on a chair or sofa, where there is no room to lay him down and breastfeed him in the cradle or football position. Although he has 8 teeth, my son does not bite while he is breastfeeding. He has nipped me occasionally, but this would only happen when he was not really hungry and was just playing with my nipple. Sometimes when he was teething he also nipped a little but I would immediately take him off the breast and he quickly got the message that if he wanted to nurse, he could not bite.

AGAIN???? Change for a change. I am NOT against breastfeeding, for sure. I still nurse my 15 mo old girl… but this woman seems to be always showing of. She loves to show boobies. She´s not natural on doing what is so natural.

It’s impossible for babies to be allergic to mother’s milk, but it’s possible to be allergic to something that mom is eating that is in her milk.
La Leche League explains all this very well.

This is so precious and beautiful! I plan to go till my son is ready…he is9 months old now and if he doesnt want to stop till hes 2 then so be it…this is a precious time i have with him and it wont last forever…i feel sorry for mothers who dont choose to do this, not only for the wonderful nutrition their child receives but the incredible bond you can have. I think only the mothers who breastfeed really understand the bond that we all have together!! Happy Nursing!!

I plan to nurse my son until he doesn’t want to nurse anymore. I don’t want to nurse him past 2 years. After that if he wants the milk I can pump it into a sippy cup. It is the best thing for children. It is specifically designed for their needs as time passes. It does not ruin teeth. And my son has 4 at 7 months old. Totally healthy and rarely ever been bitten. It is a bonding experience. Some kids get clingy. SO. A little clinginess versus a healthier child……. The math is easy.

You have your mind in the gutter.

How the hell did you get to this video then?!

21 pjonnie 02.14.10 at 6:58 am

Um okay… report away! What is so bad about watching a mother nurse her child anyways???

22 DCSucksNuts 02.14.10 at 7:06 am

I have reported you to youtube because something like this should not be on this site or anyother site for that matter.

23 moso1413 02.14.10 at 7:40 am

After two years it is of no use, because the kid is now eating solids! It’s just mom who won’t let the child GROW UP.. I’m a mom of two boys. Let it go mom..let it go.

24 PeaceLoveAndVicodin 02.14.10 at 8:25 am

Aww what a cute little boy!

LOL, I was breastfed until I was almost three….

25 shaboyagirl1 02.14.10 at 9:10 am

Actually it does. It’s just like sucking on a pacifier if you have teeth. But if they oly have a couple of teeth i could do that but.. I’m sorry,I’m just stating what “I” think is my opinion. I agree that it can help the kids A LOT but there’s one setback, some kids get too attached, and i don’t like to see it when they do cause, sometimes people do it for too long. But 11 months is ok, cause most that age don’t have many teeth, but i’m meaning like 2 or 3 years is about when to stop.:)
