Should I use training underwear or regular to potty train my son?

I’ve read that I don’t need to use pull ups to start potty training. But should I buy “training underwear” or just buy regular underwear for boys. I know that the “training underwear” have a little absorbency to contain accents but allow them to feel that they are wet. What do you think?
