Is it safe to wash my baby clothes with our laundry soap (Arm and Hammer), I plan on washing the clothes again before the baby is born with dreft, but I need to get that musty mildewy smell off of them and I need to wash it because my neice spilled orange juice in the bag that they were in.

yes i got excited and washed all my babies clothes in regular gain then once i got dreft a few weeks ago i washed them over again. its fine =]
congrats
yes, it also get that Chinese crud off there.
You really need to use a detergent that is mild. I would suggest just getting the Dreft.
Yeh that is fine. As long as you wash it with the dreft afterwards. With my first child alls I used was dreft but with my second I only used it for the first few months then went back to Tide.
You really dont need to spend money on Special detergent for baby clothes. So many people have used regular detergent for YEARS and their kids are fine/clean. So to answer the question, YES you can use it!
i just used my regular detergent powder on the baby clothes to prewash them.
my midwife said as long as it was a non-biological powder, it would be fine. and my baby has never had a reaction to the washing powder or fabric conditioner.
i think it would be fine, congratulations!
I washed all of my son’s new clothes before he wore them. I never changed my laundry detergent. I did, however, use an extra rinse. It isn’t the normal laundry detergent isn’t safe, it just may irritate their skin. I can’t speak for everyone, but an extra rinse, and no problems.
Yes & honestly there’s not really a reason to wash the clothes in dreft unless your family has a history of sensitive skin. THere’s no reason to wash in special detergent, especially if you’re using arm & hammer. I use Era & have washed all my sons clothes in it & he’s fine.
yes totally fine
i had a baby 4 months ago and i never bought the dreft laundry soap that is for sensitive newborns and my baby is fine, she never broke out because of the soap i normally use.
I used a baby laudry detergent to wash my babys clothes till he was about 9 months. Make sure the detergent is mild so it doesnt irratate the babys skin. And yes i would recomend washing all the new clothes you buy for your baby. you never know where they where before you bought them! Good luck with your baby!
Is your arm & hammer “free’ clear” of all perfume and dyes? You dont have to get special baby detergent. For the first few weeks anything that says Free and clear on it should be fine Or anything that doesnt have extra perfumes or fabric softener.Just like a plain simple non scent. Until you notice if she or he has any allergic reactions to the soap. I did this for awhile and now my son is 9 months old and I can use anything with his clothing. Actually got some tide on sale a while back and washed everything of my sons in it and his clothes came out looking great. Besides Ive heard of dreft not getting all the baby stains out as good as the other detergents I mentioned. I personally used ALL baby detergent (only bc I found it on a cheap sale and I had the extra $$ to get it before my son was born). It got stains out great.
you can use any detergent that you like, however use only about a teaspoon of it for the whole load but add about a teaspoon of baking sode to get rid of the smell .. yes, a teaspoon.. it’s a far cry from the “company recommended” half-the-cup but it’s doing the same job as the dose listed on the bottle.. why is it that the detergent manufacturing company wants you to use more than you actually need? maybe because you will use it up quicker and will need to buy another bottle? but we will never know
Yes.
I always use our detergent first to help get rid of any stains my daughter has made.
I would definitely reccommend pre-washing all of the baby clothes. I would not use anything that has fragrance or dyes.
We pre-washed all our son’s clothing in normal detergent and never had a problem. Actually we always wash our son’s clothing in normal detergent.
i use 7th generation & borax for all our laundry- works great for stains & i don’t need to do seperate loads for baby
you can use whatever laundry soap you want. Its just an old myth about using special soap. Unless the baby has real sensitive skin and breaks out then I wouldn’t worry about it.
