Did you use a crib or bassinette? Has anyone used one of those bassinettes or newborn nappers that come with pack n’ plays? Did you use a blanket or swaddle the baby? Did you use one of the sleep-right positioners? A lot of details I know, but I’m curious.

i used a bassinet for both my bubby’s until they learnt how to roll so until like 3 – 4 months
swaddling is a great way to keep a baby settled it makes them feel secure that someone is holding them
i used a sleep positioner until bubby was 1 they are great expecially like me if u have a bubby that want to roll over n sleep on their tummy this prevents them rolling onto their tummy’s and therefore stops them from sufficating or being stuck face down……and again the comfort feeling comes into play they feel someone is their
these are decisions you have to develop on your own as you get to know your bub…your bub might not like being swaddled but prefer something else like a blanket against the side of their face like my second bub…u will work it out trial and error are the best ways to accomidate your little one
goodluck

I bought those bumper things so she wouldn’t roll, she loved being swalled for about 4 or 5 months than after that she loves sleeping on her belly
From birth to about 5 months she slept here, my husband used this when he was a baby
Then from 5 months until 8 months she used this, first i had the mattress on the top then i moved it to the bottom when she learned to pull herself uphttp://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll167…
and now finally she has a real crib at 8 months!http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll167…
I really wished i would of bought her a crib right fromt the start, i love this crib!
We used a bassinet for a little while (about a month), then we put her in the crib. We swaddled her because we didn’t want a blanket to get loose and suffocate her. There was so much talk about SIDS, we were very cautious. They have alarms that beep when your child stops breathing for more than 10 seconds, those are awesome to have if you were wondering.
And the sleep-right positioner we had was this weird looking thing that kept the baby in the middle and on her back. No way she could roll over it.
I used a crib because my mom said they were a waste of money because they arent used for very long. I swaddled her a lot also. I had in floor heating so my bedroom was warm enough for her to not need a blanket. She did have a bouncer some for some of her naps a few days after I gave birth because my bedroom was in the basement and I had a c section
Cari slept in her crib for the first few weeks. but then wouldn’t sleep in it, so I kept her in our graco pack n play. It had one of the hanging bassinets in it. And she LOVED IT. Very sturdy. She’s almost 16lbs now and when we go somewhere overnight she stills stays in it fine. I had to swaddle her up to 5mo or she would not sleep at all. and now she wont let me put a blanket on her. The sleeper positioner was annoying. I rolled up a blanket to put under her head and around her sides. And that worked fine.
At first my daughter was doing fine in the bassinet. Now she will only sleep in the bed with us or on her father’s chest!! LOL. I never thought I’d be co-sleeping, but eventually you will resort to whatever keeps them happy and sleeping for your own sanity!! We definitely have to swaddle her, it’s the only way she will stay asleep for long periods of time. She’s 8 weeks today, and she will sleep for up to 6 hours if she’s swaddled. If we don’t swaddle her, she will wake up several times usually every hour. I think every baby is different and you just need to be open to trying different techniques to find what works best.
My son slept in a Pack n Play bassinet for the first week. After that we started co-sleeping due to nobody sleeping well. After we started co-sleeping we all slept much better. When he was in the Pack N Play bassinet, I put him in a sleep Sack. A blanket was not recommended due to SIDS. When he moved into our bed, I kept him in a long sleeve onesie so that he wouldn’t get too hot.
my son slept with my husband and i til he was a month old, but even then his crib was in our room. we would put him to bed in the crib but if he woke up he usually stayed in bed with us. until we moved when he was 3 months then he was in his own room and actually started sleeping longer. we never really did the swadling cause it kept him awake because he would fight to get out. he would sleep in either footy jams with snaps or one of the sleeping “dresses” (i don’t know what else to call them) we didn’t give him a blanket til he was 3months in his own room. cause the temp in his was hard to control. hope i could help. good luck.
My daughter slept with me in bed, I had a bassinet and a packnplay but she never slept in it except for naps. I still swaddle my daughter and she is 6 months old. The only time we use a sleep-postioner is if she is going to sleep on her side. Swaddling is a lifesaver for most babies.
My baby slept lying tummy down on top of my chest for the first month or so. Usually, you want them to sleep on their back to prevent SIDS, but tummy down is safe if they are lying on you, your breathing and heartbeat remind them to breathe!
My daughter slept in a bassinet, right next to my bed. I swaddled for the first few nights, but she didn’t really like it, so I used a blanket, tucked in really good. I used a positioner for the first two months.
We swaddled our son up tightly in a blanket and layed him next to us in our bed and he’s still co sleeping with us 6 months later, I wouldn’t have it any other way, there’s nothing better than snuggling your beautiful, warm LO! Good luck and Congrats!
My son is sleeping on his bugaboo basinett, but is starting to get too big for it so we are planning on moving his crib from his nursery to our bedroom, until we feel safe letting him sleep in his own room. He is 13 weeks old.
bassinett, and swaddled. the first weeks they love to be swaddled. gives them that in the womb feeling. baby 2 coming in 3 weeks. have the bassinet ready again.
I used the pack’n'plays with the bassinet. We swaddled her for the 1st couple of days but she was uncomfortable like that so we just used blankets.
We tightly tucked the blankets under her armpits, as we were super paranoid about SID’s!
Bassinet, swaddled and blankets, for the first 7 weeks. Then cot, swaddled until 4 months old when he didnt want to be wrapped anymore so I use a grobag now. I highly reccomend them for when your bubs starts kicking off blankets etc.
We used a bassinet til she was 2 months old and we swaddled her as well.
